Acupuncture

Acupuncture is the insertion of “thread-like” needles along energy pathways in the body. Treatments are relaxing, effective, and painless thanks to modern technology. This modality of Traditional Chinese Medicine dates back over 3000 years, and is the fastest growing alternative modality in North America.
All needles are factory produced and sterilized, individually wrapped, and disposed of in a sharps container after use. Treatments are often complimented by relaxation aromatherapy and spa music. Course of treatment for your concerns will be determined during the initial assessment.

Advanced Constitutional Facial Rejuvenation is another natural alternative to Botox. The insertion of thread-like needles creates a “micro-trauma” which allows Red and White blood cells, along with collagen and elastin to form. This treatment dates back to the Sang Dynasty (960-1279 AD), where it was used on Emperors concubines as an anti-aging technique.
It was noted in the International Journal of Clinical Acupuncture, 1996, that 90 percent of 300 cases treated with facial acupuncture had remarkable results with the first treatment. The report said there were fewer wrinkles, greater elasticity and tone of facial muscles. Advantages include having a penetrating and powerful effect.
It can add energy to the body, thereby increasing the yang and the circulation of qi and blood.
Benefits

  • Improves muscle tone and dermal contraction
  • Helps to eliminate fine lines of the face and has a diminishing effect on larger wrinkles
  • Helps to reduce bags and sagging tendencies
  • Helps to eliminate edema and puffiness – by improving metabolism
  • Decreases the tendency towards sagging jowels, tightens the neck, reduces double chins, and lifts drooping eyelids
  • Improves acne (caused by hormonal imbalances) and tightens the pores
  • Increases local blood and lymph circulation, improves facial color
  • Reduces stress, helps menopause and PMS, and improves overall health and wellbeing
  • Retards hair loss and hair graying
  • Helps depression, anxiety and aids self-esteem
  • Reduces symptoms of toothache, TMJ, Trigeminal Neuralgia, and Bell’s Palsy
  • Helps sinus congestion and headaches, benefits the eyes, ears, thyroid, and brain

If you have any of the below, these must be treated with Acupuncture before going ahead with Facial Rejuvenation:

  • Migraines
  • Flu’s and colds
  • Herpes outbreaks, allergic reactions
  • High blood pressure

The Facial Rejuvenation treatment is a holistic process that does not begin from the neck up but instead works with the whole body.
It is optimal to start treatment in your 20s or 30s as the skin still has a significant amount of collagen and elastin, and the cells are well hydrated, but it will still benefit any age.  A course of treatment will be determined with your health assessment.
